The story itself centres around a single location, Marlinspike Hall, the home of Captain Haddock, who along with Tintin and Snowy must recover the titular missing emerald for renowned opera singer Bianca Castafiore. Perhaps Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock and company may be back sooner than we suspected though, as French filmmaker Patrice Leconte has revealed plans to make a live action Tintin movie based on HergГ©вЂ™s comic book, The Castafiore Emerald, one of the final Tintin tales to be completed. Peter Jackson handled producer duties on The Secret Of The Unicorn, with the idea being that the pair would swap roles for the sequel, with Spielberg producing and Jackson directing.ДЄlthough Spielberg still talks about the project as an eventuality, as recently as 2018 where he claimed it was just a few years away, itвЂ™s been almost a decade since the release of The Secret Of TheUnicorn. Lots of those promises have come from none other than Steven Spielberg himself, the director of the 2011 CGI animated film. Since 2011вЂ™s The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn launched, weвЂ™ve heard plenty of promises that a sequel to that film is on the horizon. ThereвЂ™s talk of a new Tintin movie being developed, but not perhaps, from the source you might expect.

Although negotiations have reportedly stalled, it seems development has indeed begun on a new Tintin movie вЂ“ just not a sequel to the Spielberg film.
